On Monday, June 10, 2024, our player, Ihor Nikolaevich, received a prestigious trophy during the EUHL (European University Hockey League) awards ceremony at the EUHL headquarters in Trenčín, Slovakia.
UHT Sabers Oświęcim was also represented at the ceremony by PUHA President Paweł Dworzak and UHT Sabers Oświęcim Operations Director Gabriel Połącarz.
Ihor was honored as one of the league’s top three forwards, alongside Richard Novodomec from UMB Hockey Team Banská Bystrica and Erik Smolka from Gladiators Trenčín.
The best goaltender of the league was Andrej Julínek from UMB Hockey Team Banská Bystrica, the league champions. The elite defense selection included Adam Šimurda from Philosophers Nitra and Botond Galusnyák from Sapientia U23.
The coaches also decided to award the prize for the best rookie of the season to Benedek Madácsi from UNI Győr ETO HC, who scored 21 points (14+7) in thirteen games. The award for the most productive player of the regular season went to Erik Smolka from Gladiators Trenčín. Smolka scored 15 goals in thirteen games and assisted on 14 more.
The captain of the Trenčín team will also receive the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award for the playoffs, having scored 16 points (9+7) in eight games during the elimination phase.
The awards ceremony took place on June 10, 2024, and was preceded by the EUHL conference.
